Belinda Gail

WOWWW!!! Belinda Gail has a new CD out and it is fabulous! I think her voice is purer and stronger than ever. Every cut is a gem but I, of course, have favorites. Shenandoah has been a favorite of mine since I was a little girl. I used to beg Dad to sing it as we rode in the car. Belinda’s voice is just perfect for this classic melody. I have always thought that “Until Then” was one of the most beautiful melodies that Stuart Hamblen wrote (and he wrote lots of beautiful songs). I had a really hard time picking a favorite on this CD BUT Larry (my husband) and I tear up every time we hear her sing “He Sang For Me.” Joyce Woodson wrote a beautiful song based on a letter she received from someone who had polio as a child. Our good friend Patrick Curtis was a little boy, with polio, in Children’s Hospital in L.A. when he had the same experience as the letter writer. Belinda’s arrangement is wonderful and I dare you to listen and not be touched by the beauty of the song and of Belinda’s voice.

Go to Belinda’s website to find out how you can purchase this remarkable CD. I guess the name of the album would help, it’s “Granite Mountain” by Belinda Gail.

We saw her this past Friday in Silver Dollar City and I had more than tears in my eyes, a lump in my throat, etc! There will never be another “Roy” and the song, “He Sang For Me” was so typical of the way he lived his life.
