Roy Rogers and Cary Grant in Partnership???

Actually it was Cary Grant, Dad, Red Skelton and Richard Widmark who were talking about forming a partnership to invest in a hotel in Acapulco, Mexico in the mid-1940s!

I don’t remember anything about this (sure wish it had happened as Grant and Widmark were extraordinary businessmen!) but a friend of mine, who is a consultant on getting business permits, came across some documents regarding this strange partnership.  She went to Cary Grant’s Wikipedia page and, sure enough, it’s listed under Business Interests. She contacted me and I couldn’t wait to share the information WITH YOU!

I would imagine that Dad’s interest was initially in having a place to stay when he was in Mexico fishing! Sure wish that the investment had materialized!!!

I love finding out new things about my parents.  Remember you can contact me by email at cheryl@cherylrogers.com.

It sure is exciting finding out information and “stuff” about parents. Treasure trove of things your dad did has got to be just plain fun. So happy for you and who knows what more is out there. Should I say “Happy Trails”.

I can see those guys being compatible, they were all self made men. That hotel would have made mucho dinero. The ladies would have gone nuts for it!

Just came across this on Cary Grant’s Wikipedia site, which says he did invest with your father and others. But I guess many deals fall through at the last minute.
