Roy Rogers and Joaquin

Dad owned one of the first five pairs of Weimaraners imported from Germany.

Joaquin was the male and Lana was the female.  For a number of years Dad bred Weimaraner pups but we never had any that we loved as much as Lana and Joaquin.  When they arrived, they only knew German commands but Dad soon was communicating with them just as easily as he did with his hounds.  One of the bribes he used was popcorn!

Of course, when Lana and Joaquin arrived, we were living in the Hollywood Hills and Dad had around 34 hunting dogs. We were not terribly popular with our neighbors when there was a full moon or when sirens went off below in Hollywood.

I love those dogs. I am a pet artist (horses, dogs, and cats) and one of my favorites is the Weimeriner

Didn’t know your dad had hounds or dogs other than Bullet. I bet your neighbors were upset with all that howling. I found one was enough when he heard a fire truck or police car go by.
