Roy Rogers on YouTube

I know that I have told you about Dad (Roy Rogers) showing off BUT – go to YouTube and type in “Roy Rogers – The Auctioneer.”  You will see what I mean.  Dad always had a good time working on “Hee Haw” but I think that this was his favorite of those appearances. He does that song as well as anyone and has a great time with the tongue-twisting lyrics!!

Also go to YouTube and type in Western Stars Theater. You can watch the new promo that my partner, Bob Terry, and I filmed while my husband, Larry, and I were in Texas. Bob and I will tell you about some of the exciting programs coming up on my new program “Along the Trail.”

He’s amazing, so fast but still precise, and keeps the tune. How? Did he practice, like go slow and then speed up, or did he just have the knack. There’s a couple of square dance calls where he goes super fast too.

His singing was so fine, you’d think he’d show off all the time but he had that great laid back style, except for those fast numbers! You can see he got a kick out of doing it, too. I love Roy!

    1. He just had that talent. He and his cousin Stan were calling square dances when Dad was only 10.
You’re right! He was having a ball, showing off his skill!

  1. Thanks Cheryl, I think I saw that show. He was good at anything he put his mind to. Enjoyed watching it again. I am so glad that your Dad’s movies, tv shows and guest performances are still available on youtube. He is ageless, what he had can still demonstrate to the youth of today that love and goodness are right. God bless you and your family and Merry Christmas to all of you.

Yes indeed to all the thank you’s, Cheryl! I so much appreciate the opportunity to pass down Roy’s rich heritage of solid character and great fun to my kids as I was raised with it. Thank you so much, and merry Christmas!
