Nellybelle

Look at what our friend and almost neighbor, Burly, found in a little antique shop named Back In Thyme. The shop is next door to the Coffee Cup Cafe & Cantina in Boulder City, Nevada. That is where our friends had gone, since it was featured on Diners, Drive Ins & Dives, and spotted some Roy memorabilia in the window. Burly and his wife, Pat, were blown away when they saw all of the Roy and Dale stuff in the shop. There are literally hundreds of items available.

I’ve never seen  a set like this. I talked with the owner of the shop and she told me that the trailer is very rare. You bet it is! I have looked in the 3 reference books we have for Roy Rogers Collectibles and can’t find the trailer anywhere.

Anyway, I think this is about the nicest Nellybelle I’ve seen in years (I know that the hubcaps aren’t original but they’re really nice).  You can contact the shop at 702-523-1803.

Happy trails, Cheryl

After looking at the hubcaps fitted to this Nellybelle, I realized what they used. The little chrome hubcaps are the chrome horn buttons found in custom hot rod Grant steering wheel kits. A good solution…………

It’s just like Trigger’s sky blue trailer!! How wonderful, just to see it!

It appears to be a home made version and that’s why it is rare but well done.

    1. The Jeep is in the toy catalogs in blue or grey but I haven’t seen the horse trailer. My partner, Bob Terry (who owns Wild West Toys), thinks the trailer might have been a prototype.
If any of you out there know anything about the trailer, please write us here.

    I love all that stuff.

  1. I just obtained more knowledge about my Hero. Anything, but anything is interesting when it relates to Roy and/or his family. I am so privileged to be a part of your web site Cheryl.!
